This list consists of the top 5 favorites to win the Heisman trophy in the middle of the season. So, some players that can definitely end up in the conversation for the trophy might not be on the list. Players such as Shaedeur Sanders, Audric Estime, Cameron Ward, and J.J. McCarthy along with others, are not on this list because they are not favorites to win the award as of now. With that being said, let’s take a look at the favorites.

Caleb Williams - The favorite to win the Heisman trophy as of now is USC quarterback Caleb Williams. Caleb has been incredible this season putting up 1,603 passing yards, 21 passing touchdowns, 3 rushing touchdowns, and a QBR of 88.5. USC is also 5-0 due to Caleb’s success. If Caleb wins the Heismanthis year, he will be only the second player in history to win 2 Heismans as Archie Griffin is the only other person to have done it. He can make history, so it will be exciting to see if he can win the award again.

Michael Penix Jr. - Michael Penix Jr. has the second best odds to win the Heisman. The Washington quarterback has been amazing this season totalling 1,999 passing yards, 12 passing touchdowns, and a QBR of 91.6. Penix has also helped Washington to a 5-0 start and they look like a very dominant team. It will be interesting to see if he can keep up this pace and maybe win the award.

Quinn Ewers - The Texas quarterback currently has the third best odds to win the award. He has had an amazing season so far as well recording 1,358 passing yards, 10 passing touchdowns, and 5 rushing touchdowns. He has also helped Texas start their season off 5-0 for the first time since 2009. He is the quarterback on one of the best teams in the country, so it will be interesting to see if he can take home the Heisman.

Bo Nix - The Oregon quarterback finds himself in Heisman conversations two years in a row and it is well deserved. Bo Nix and Oregon have looked incredible to start the year. Bo nix has passed for 1,459 yards and 15 touchdowns, and has a QBR of 81.6. Oregon continues to climb the rankings each week, and Bo Nix is a big part of that. We will see if Bo Nix can keep it up and possibly win the trophy.

Jordan Travis - Florida State’s QB1 has the fifth best odds to win the award. Travis has passed for 1,028 yards and 10 touchdowns, and has 2 rushing touchdowns and a QBR of 86.0. He has also helped the Seminoles to be one of the best teams in the country. We will see if Travis will move up or down on these rankings.
