Coming into this MAC matchup, Toledo was 16-6 and Central Michigan was 8-14. This in conference matchup was very important to the conference standings. In the end, Toledo won 84-59. Let’s take a closer look at what happened in this game.
Toledo took the lead early in this game, and they never got rid of it as they were up 49-21 at halftime. The second half was very similar to the first as Toledo kept control of the game all the way to the end. Toledo defeated Central Michigan 84-59.
The big story for this game was three pointers and turnovers. Central Michigan shot 26.7% from three and only made 4 of them While Toledo shot 40.7% from three and made 11 of them. Toledo also only had 8 turnovers, while Central Michigan had 21 turnovers. These two stats definitely changed the outcome of the game.
Toledo’s Setric Millner Jr. and RayJ Dennis had great games in this one. Millner Jr. had 18 points, 2 steals, and 3 rebounds. Dennis had 18 points, 8 assists, and 5 rebounds. Central Michigan’s Brian Taylor had a great game too as he had 20 points, 7 rebounds, and a block.
Central Michigan is now 8-15 and 9th in the MAC. They have a shot at making the MAC tournament, but they need to win a lot of their next games. It will be interesting to see how the rest of their season goes.
Toledo is now 17-6 and 1st in the MAC. This team is most likely going to make the MAC tournament, and very possibly the NCAA tournament. It will be interesting as well to see how their season ends.
