CINCINNATI, Ohio — The Cincinnati Bearcats make a strong statement to begin the 2026 college football season, winning their first three games and entering Big 12 play undefeated.
Cincinnati opened the season with a 34-15 win over Boston College. The Bearcats controlled throughout most of the game, with quarterback JC French IV leading the offense. French scored three rushing touchdowns and added another touchdown in the air to help Cincinnati start the season with a victory.
After a strong week 1 performance, The Bearcats put together a great offensive performance against Western Carolina. Cincinnati recorded a 62-10 victory, finishing the game with 690 total yards.
The running game was especially impressive, as Cincinnati rushed for 418 yards. Six different Bearcats found the end zone on the ground as the offense continued to build confidence.
The Bearcats looked to use that great momentum headed into week 3 against rival Miami of Ohio in the annual Battle for the Victory Bell.
Miami of Ohio took control early and led 28-7 at halftime. Cincinnati decided not to back down as they responded with a huge second half and scored 28 unanswered points to complete the comeback.
With the game coming down to the final minutes, Cole Tabb delivered the biggest play of the night. Tabb broke loose for a 53-yard touchdown run with 1:36 remaining, giving Cincinnati a 35-31 lead. The Bearcats held their ground on defense to secure the victory, improving their record 3-0.
Cincinnati will now turn its attention to Big 12 play. The Bearcats will host Kansas State on Sept. 26 at Nippert Stadium in their conference opener with great momentum. Cincinnati will look to carry their confidence into conference competition.
