This weekend, the Georgia Bulldogs head to Knoxville to face the 15th-ranked Tennessee Volunteers in one of the most anticipated games of the young season. With ESPN’s College GameDay on-site, the stage doesn’t get much bigger. This clash isn’t just about bragging rights — it carries major SEC title implications. Both teams are looking to set the tone early, and a win here could be the springboard to a championship-caliber run.

The Georgia Bulldogs enter this matchup in dominant form, outscoring their first two opponents by a combined 73-6. The reigning SEC powerhouse looks every bit like a contender again, flexing their strength on both sides of the ball. On the other sideline, the Tennessee Volunteers are also off to a hot 2-0 start, but oddsmakers still have them as 3.5-point underdogs at home in Neyland Stadium. With ESPN’s College GameDay in town and the stakes sky-high, the Vols will be looking to prove themselves against the defending conference champions and pull off an early-season statement win.

There’s no question Kirby Smart will have his team ready to play, as the Bulldogs have looked locked in to begin the season. Georgia’s physicality and discipline have been trademarks of Smart’s tenure, and that will be tested in a raucous Neyland Stadium environment. Tennessee, meanwhile, will lean on its explosive offense and the energy of its home crowd to try and shake the Bulldogs early. This one has all the makings of a September classic.
