Georgia Tech continued its remarkable late-season push with another dramatic finish, rallying from 11 points down in the fourth quarter to escape Chestnut Hill with a 36 to 34 win over Boston College on Saturday. The victory pushed the fourteenth-ranked Yellow Jackets to nine wins and moved them within one step of securing a spot in the 2025 ACC Championship Game.
Trailing 28 to 17 heading into the final quarter, Georgia Tech caught fire. The Jackets put up 19 unanswered points to flip the momentum, beginning with a 26-yard field goal from Aidan Birr before Jamal Haynes powered in a short touchdown run. True freshman Jordan Allen then broke loose for a 54-yard score that gave Tech a 33 to 28 lead with just over six minutes to play.
Boston College responded quickly, marching downfield to grab a 34 to 33 advantage, but Georgia Tech still had time. Haynes King, who has turned himself into a full-fledged Heisman Trophy contender over the past month, guided the offense on a composed final march. He threw for 25 yards and rushed for 27 more as the Jackets moved 69 yards on thirteen plays. Birr finished the drive with a 23-yard kick with eleven seconds remaining, sealing Tech’s third comeback win of the season when trailing entering the fourth quarter.
King once again delivered one of the best performances in program history, finishing with 424 total yards. He completed 26 of 34 passes for 371 yards and added 53 more on the ground. It marked his fourth straight game with at least 325 yards of offense and his third in a row with more than 300 passing yards. His 76.5 percent completion rate ranks among the top single-game marks ever recorded by a Georgia Tech quarterback, and he now owns six of the top seven high-volume completion performances in school history.
