Hank Bachmeier had a career night in a narrow 31-30 loss against Virginia, showcasing his ability to perform under pressure. The senior quarterback completed 27 of 42 passes, racking up an impressive 403 passing yards with a 64.3% completion rate. Bachmeier’s deep-ball accuracy was a highlight, averaging 9.6 yards per attempt and connecting on a long 42-yard pass.

Despite being sacked six times, Bachmeier remained resilient, protecting the ball with no interceptions and throwing a key touchdown. His poise in the pocket was evident throughout the game, and his ability to find receivers in crucial moments kept his team in contention.

One of the game’s most significant drives came when Bachmeier led his offense down the field, setting up scoring opportunities and keeping the defense on its heels. Although the game ended in a heartbreaking loss, his performance—posting a 152.7 passer rating—was a bright spot, proving his capability to compete at a high level.

While his QBR of 48.1 may reflect the challenges faced, such as the sacks and overall game flow, Bachmeier’s 403-yard game is a testament to his strong arm and leadership. His career-high passing yardage will serve as a foundation for future games, providing hope that his team can build off this performance moving forward.
