Louisville started slow, but the 16th-ranked Cardinals roared back after halftime to take down Virginia Tech 28–16 at Lane Stadium. Trailing 16–7 at the break, the Cardinals completely flipped the momentum, shutting out the Hokies in the second half and piling on 21 unanswered points. The win moves Louisville to 7–1 and keeps them firmly in the ACC title race.

Hokies Strike First

Virginia Tech came out sharp behind quarterback Kyron Drones, who threw a short touchdown to Cameron Seldon and later powered in another score on the ground. The Hokies’ defense added to the early surge with a blocked punt that rolled out of the end zone for a safety. Louisville’s lone first-half highlight came from Isaac Brown’s 52-yard burst, but the offense struggled to find rhythm before halftime.

Cards Take Control

Everything changed after the break. Miller Moss connected with Caullin Lacy for a touchdown to spark the comeback, and Lacy later delivered a game-changing punt return that set up another score. Running back Keyjuan Brown punched in a short touchdown to give Louisville its first lead, and the Cardinals never looked back.

Finishing Blow

After Isaac Brown exited late with a leg injury, Keyjuan Brown carried the offense down the stretch, sealing the win with a 24-yard touchdown run. He finished with 94 yards and two scores as Louisville’s defense locked down Drones and the Hokie offense, holding them scoreless over the final two quarters. Virginia Tech dropped to 3–6 after managing just 72 total yards in the second half.
