Omar Daniels is a Defensive Back from Moultrie, Georgia that went to Colquitt County High School. He was a 3-star prospect that committed to Kansas State where he played his first two seasons of college football. He has recently transferred to Georgia Tech, and The Mojo Network was lucky to ask him about his transfer experience and other football related questions. Here is the interview:
Q: “What’s the transition been like transferring schools”
A: “The transition to tech hasn’t really been hard because I’ve been around nothing but great people. The people around brought me in and made me family quick”
Q: “What was the portal like? What made you pick GT”
A: “When I got into the portal, I had a lot of power 5 schools hitting me up. At one point it was stressful because I only had 3 weeks to take visits. I ended up choosing Georgia Tech because of educational purposes and also closer to family because my mother was going through things.”
Q: “What is your favorite part of the GT FB Program”
A: “My favorite part about the GT football program is the legacy around it. We are trying to bring that back to Atlanta, so you can see the people around really on a mission right now to get back where it started.”
Q: “What are you most excited for as you continue your CFB Career”
A: “I’m not excited about just having the opportunity to play on this level, so I want to thank God for that. But for sure excited about this mission I’m on. I have a lil chip on my shoulder and want to have a breakout season. I haven’t really been the Omar I know, but I feel like the best me right now and will soon be displayed for the world to see!!”
Q: “What should people know about you as an Athlete”
A: “People should know that I’m a competitor. Growing up I was taught to compete at a high level. I’m a firm believer in God’s plan, so I’m taking everything one day at a time. Everything I do is for my family. I’m the oldest of my siblings, so I have no choice but to be a great role model and show them the way.”
