Syracuse vs Purdue Preview

We will be in New York to cover the Syracuse Orange take on the Purdue Boilermakers at 12 PM ET on saturday. Both teams look to add another win to their record after having big wins last week. Purdue goes into JMA Wireless dome with a 1-1 record with a tough road loss to Penn st. and a big win vs a weak UCONN team. The orange are off to a hot start after wins against ACC foe Louisville and a 56-0 shutout win vs Indiana State.

The Syracuse offense is led by quarterback Garrett Shrader. Shrader has thrown for 528 yards and 5 touchdowns, along with 0 interceptions. The running back for the Orange, Sean Tucker is off to a great start as well, back to back 100 yard rushing performances to start the year. He's also been a huge peace in the passing game as he leads the team in receiving yards. Look for the Orange to come out with a balanced offense after having good running and passing game the last 2 weeks. The boilermakers are led by Quarterback Aidan O’Connell whos been just as good as Shrader with 576 yards and 5 touchdowns. His main target Charlie Jones has been his go to guy with 286 yards and 4 touchdowns this year. Purdue hasn't gotten the run game going too well this year but with a group of running backs that can handle the ball, they will have fresh legs all game.

I can see this game being very offensive as both teams have had great quarterback play early in this 2022 season. The Syracuse defense has been great this year, only giving up 10.5 points per game but the Boilermakers proved they can score after putting up 31 on Penn State. A big matchup in this game is Purdue receiver Charlie Jones and Syracuse Cornerback Garrett Williams. Aidan O’Connell and Jones have built great chemistry together and they must play a good game to win. Williams is a projected top 5 Corner in the next draft and is going to have a tough matchup but he's a great corner and it should be a good game.

The Boilermakers are currently a 1.5 point underdog but don't let this fool you. They are a have a stellar passing game which can give the Orange some trouble. Syracuse has played great all year and does have lots of momentum. They are also playing at home with a crowd behind them.
