Week 1 of the college football season is finally back! We have made it after a long offseason, and the season kicks off this Thursday with the Colorado Buffaloes heading down to Atlanta to take on the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.
I am looking forward to this game as we finally get to watch quarterback Alberto Mendoza, the younger brother of Heisman Trophy winner Fernando Mendoza. Alberto transferred to Georgia Tech this past spring after sitting behind his older brother last season during Indiana's national title run. The Yellow Jackets also bring back star running back Justice Haynes, who will be another exciting player to watch in this offense.
On the other side of things, Colorado looks to improve on what was a very underwhelming season last year. The Buffaloes' offense is led by former five-star quarterback Julian Lewis, who will now have full reign of the offense as the full-time starter entering his sophomore season.
With two talented young quarterbacks and plenty of new faces on both teams, this Week 1 matchup should be an exciting way to kick off the college football season.
